About the features and effects of hot springs
The source of our water is a hydrogen sulfide spring at Yumoto Onsen, which is 12 km away. A lot of ‘yuhana’ has settled on the bottom of the bathtub, which is characteristic of sulfur springs. It is called “yuhana” because white particles spread like flowers in the water.
Our hot water is drawn from Oku-Nikko through a wood pipe. The hot water is agitated and yuhana occurs. Please be assured that this is not dirt nor the water dirty. This hot spring has the effect of expanding blood vessels, antibacterial properties, detoxification properties, and is said to be effective against many diseases.
The hot spring also causes sweating and is good for dieting. Because of the heat and the the strong chemical composition, people who are anemic or who are not feeling well should be careful about long stays in the bath.
